A straight and honest approach
OK, here's the thing, Vocation IT is a small company, a boutique agency you might say, although we've never advised on hair styles or couture. We typically work with a small number of clients at any given time and we never have hundreds of jobs to advertise. What we do have is extensive experience in IT recruitment and list of valued clients who we have had business relationships with for many years.
Here's our promise to you as a candidate, it's simple but it's honest: If we can help you, we will. If we can't help you, we'll be honest and tell you why. One thing we will always try to do is communicate in a timely manner because we know how frustrating it is to be ignored.
You won't find a long list of open vacancies on this website for three reasons:
- Everybody uses one of the major job boards for searching so that's where we advertise
- The status of a vacancy can change very quickly and we don't want to run the risk of advertising none existent jobs. It's a little bit dodgy and it contravenes the Agency Conduct Regulations
- We honestly wouldn't know where to start with the technology for running a job board function as well as the other stuff we need to do!

Size matters?
We've already said this in the candidate section but if you skipped that, here goes. Vocation IT is a small company. We make no pretensions to being bigger than we are and you won't see a photo of a 20 seat boardroom table overlooking London when our office is in South Manchester. We know how many people feel about Recruitment Consultants and, to be fair, many recruiters deserve the reputation they have.
All we ask is that you don't judge us on the size of Vocation IT, judge us on the size of the contribution we make to your business. Vocation IT has exactly the same candidate attraction tools as the large agencies.
This is part where we do what everybody else does and states that they're different.
Guess what? We're different

We're different from the large agencies because the person selling the services of Vocation IT is also responsible for delivering that service.
When we say Vocation IT is pretty much a single person business, it is true, but there are a number of trusted associates that we collaborate with when needed.
Why choose Vocation IT?
Recruitment happens for one of two reasons:
- Something has gone wrong and you need to quickly find a new member of staff
- Something has gone really well and you need to quickly find a new member of staff.
Whatever the reason, recruitment is something that usually needs to be done quite quickly. If you want to work with an experienced recruitment partner who will take the time to understand your business needs and articulate them accurately to strong candidates then we should speak.
